Director of Consumer Communications / PR

As we continue to scale across the nation we see an incredible opportunity to share our story and expose America to our brand. We’re looking for a Communications expert excited to strategize, design, and implement world class PR and communications practices.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA and reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities
 

  • Drive a world-class consumer PR and consumer communications strategy across PR, email, the blog, and social media

  • Develop clear and concise positioning that helps us stand out in the market with a compelling value prop and ensure that this positioning is communicated across all communication channels consistently and effectively

  • Manage the customer service, social media, and content teams

  • Develop and execute on a savvy content strategy

  • Build a stable of writers that create original content and help drive traffic to our website via earned media

  • Develop and activate creative consumer campaign and event concepts that map to business objectives, while generating media coverage and driving consumer usage; lead concept creation and execution, including traditional media and social channels

  • Develop and maintain relationships with top tier consumer reporters

  • Oversee a digital PR outreach program and deliver positive coverage and improved influencer perceptions

  • Provide PR counsel and messaging and positioning guidance to key stakeholders

  • Keep the team up to date on industry/audience trends and news

Qualifications/Skills
 

  • At least 3 years at a PR or brand marketing agency

  • At least 2 years of in-house PR

  • Track record of super-creative campaign and story ideas with demonstrated results

  • Strong existing consumer press ties

  • Talented copywriter able to write and edit content that’s consumer-ready
